EDITS!

So now that the principle work on the book is done, I have spent the week doing edits of the material and getting it as closed to publishable as possible.  I stayed up later than I probably should have and worked on finishing up the first round of edits  so I had a readable version by the weekend.  Just to give you all an idea of what these edits are looking like, here you go…

Here’s the original art from one of the pages and a drawing of Chloe.  In particular throughout the course of the book, her appearance got more feminine which is good, but this created some pretty big design differences.

So I went back in and made it look more like this:

This is much closer to the feel of the rest of the book and gives her a softer look.  She’s supposed to be a tom-boy like character but I needed to make her softer in appearance.  It sort of happened on accident.  I never recall making the change consciously, but I like it! LOL.

I also did a number of changes to the dialogue, fixing typos and bad storytelling as well.  And that round of edits is all done.  It’s time to relax and enjoy the accomplishment of finishing what I set out to do.  There are already a few things that need fixing, but they’re minor and can wait.  I have a few people reading it to add feedback and thoughts to the whole discussion as well.  In the next few weeks I will begin the hunt for an agent.  Things are about to get fun!
